Rule 14 Plan Presumptive Depletion Factors (PDF)
Supplemental Flood Irrigation = 0.36
Sole Source Flood Irrigation = 0.50
Sprinkler Irrigation = 0.75
Lawn Irrigation = 0.85
Drip Irrigation = 1.00
Weighted PDF = Based on acres of each type of irrigation method described above. As an example, if a farm has 200 acres of which 100 acres is supplemental flood irrigation and 100 acres is sprinkler irrigation the weighted PDF would use the following formula:
(100 ac x 0.36) + (100 ac x .075) = 0.555

Note: The Supplemental Flood Irrigation PDF can change from year to year and is set by the SEO/DEO before each Rule 14 Plan is submitted in February.
It should also be noted that the SEO/DEO has final determination of each well’s PDF.
